Poor Tinker might have an ACL injury! He's been favoring his left hind leg - I thought it was his paw - but it's his knee! We're hoping it's just a sprain!!
Poor Tinker! Have you tried icing it? (Yeah, right.) ;-j Did he step in a hole? What is an ACL injury?
Took him to the vet; An ACL injury is a tear in the knee cartilidge or whatever they have in there. The doc is hoping it's a sprain which will heal - a tear would have to be surgically repaired!!! Doc said it's a common injury in large dogs - all the tearing around the yard - figure 8'ing - could have stepped in a mole hole... He's on pain medication right now and I have to keep him sedate for two weeks! Have to make sure he's not tearing around the yard. Then go back and if he's still favoring it, the doc will take x-rays and then decide whether he needs surgery or not (A tear won't get better on its own). Poor Tinker :-(
Awww. Poor Tink. So does Scooty like the mellow fellow better? Did you just notice he was limping one day? Makes me worry about all these holes Loki is digging. They tear around like maniacs. We should probably fill them in. Pat Tinker for me. ;-]
Being desserty, you can see the hole - graters - that Loki digs - Scootie digs mole holes - ankle turners - that get covered over with grass so you're unaware. I don't think they can miss seeing his craters! Besides, I think they'll lose a whole body in Loki's craters - not just an ankle. ;- j
Yup. ;-> Loki knocked Freya into one yesterday in one of their battles and she ended up on her back with him on top and she had a hard time getting out! There's method to his madness.
